'Marked Troll' is the name given to a troll (usually a forest troll)
that bears a white, diamond-shape marking on either its scalp or
forehead.
The origin of these strange and distinct markings is not known, though many
have speculated that they are rooted in dark sorcery. It's commonly believed
that the marking grants a troll exceptional strength, speed, and longevity.
Trolls marked in this manner are reported to have risen more than once
after having been slain, much to the profound dismay of those who find themselves
engaged in battle with them.
Thankfully, marked trolls seem to be quite rare.
