These large wolves, some nearly twice the size of their lesser kin,
are typically found in colder/frozen climates, though their domains
are vast and varied.
In winter (or in cold climates) the fur of these wolves is stark white,
while at other times is deep grey.
Aggressive and intelligent, winter wolves hunt in packs and like to encircle
and assail large prey in unison, tactically timing their attacks to overwhelm
a foe's defenses.
Legend has it that being bitten by a winter wolf (and living to tell the tale)
makes the victim especially susceptible to the effects of cold.
Winter wolf pelts are renowned for their ability to insulate and are thus prized
by furriers.
