The Kingdom of Tysa

Tysa is one of the oldest and most powerful of the North Broadlands nations.

Almost completely surrounded by towering mountains on three of its sides, and bordered by the Sundren Sea on the north, the people of Tysa have long enjoyed great prosperity.

Although the King of Tysa (currently King Wenreald) has supreme authority over any and all affairs of state, he grants local authority to five Thanes . These localized officials govern with Authority-Under-The-Crown , as has been granted to them by the King. They govern five Thanedoms, each of near-equal proportions.

Tysa has maintained good relations with each of its neighbours, but it nonetheless maintains the largest standing army of any North Broadlands nation. The bulk of the Tysian army can be found in the city of Graldok in eastern Tysa.

Tysa has long been known as the Kingdom of The Griffon. The large, and now thought to be extinct beasts played a major role in the nation's early history.
