The "rabble", as they have become known, are a group of citizens of the
city-state of Kardsen who stand in fierce opposition to the
Grand Sentry and his authoritarian policies.
The rabble have never had much success in their neverending campaign against
the sorcerer lord of Kardsen (mostly due to the
the brutal tactics of his defenders -- the roustmen ).
In recent years, however, a mysterious figure has assumed leadership of
the "rabble" and they have become unified and somewhat effective in their
subversive tactics.
The rabble claims that the Grand Sentry is not the legitimate ruler of Kardsen,
and that he holds the vast majority of the city's populace at bay with his
powerful magic.
In recent months, the rabble claims to have discovered the rightful leader of
Kardsen -- the person who will restore the Council of Five
and bring to justice the Grand Sentry and his villainous supporters.
A longstanding hatred exists between the rabble and the
roustmen .
