This ancient dhormuk , by far the greatest
and most malevolent of his cruel species, was once a roaming terror
whose nightmarish army of living trees plagued a wide swath of
the North Broadlands .
Nearly two hundred years ago, the fearsome Oakenking and his legion
of lesser dhormuk inexplicably vanished.
It is believed that the Oakenking, for reasons unknown, entered the
vast, untamed mire known as Dragonmere Deep ,
in eastern Tysa.
Over the two centuries since the sudden disappearance of the savage, living
oak, many expeditions have been made into the great swamp, each in the hopes
of proving either the location or the demise of the sinister creature.
Many maintain that the Oakenking has taken root somewhere deep in the tangled
heart of the mire and that he and his army of dhormuk tirelessly guard a
great treasure.
