These fiendish spirits, often appearing as glowing apparitions in or
around their places of burial or the places in which they met an
untimely (and usually gruesome) demise, are among the most powerful
and fearsome of the risen dead.
It is said that the hapless soul who's unfortunate enough to come into
contact with a grave wraith will ultimately suffer a demise similar to
that which ended the wraith's former/natural life.
It is also said, however, that anyone who inhales the essence of a grave wraith
will have bestowed upon them a fragment of the spirit's potency.
Throughout the centuries, it has been rumoured that various mages (necromancers,
if we're to be specific) have been able to master the art of collecting
grave wraith essence -- and living to tell about it.
Despite its documented benefits, the inhalation of the foggy, luminous essence of
a grave wraith may also induce unknown and decidedly less welcome effects.
However, to date, there have been no known negative side effects that have arisen
from the inhalation of grave wraith essence.
