"Fire Wish" is a term used to describe the practice by which the fire
breath of an ancient dragon is used to augment the magical properties
of enchanted items, particularly weapons and armour.
The process of bestowing a fire wish upon an object involves a living ancient
dragon unleashing the full power of its flame breath upon the item no less than
three times, in quick succession.
Items that have received fire wishes are indeed rare as there are no longer
many dragons capable of (or willing to) bestow such an invaluable gift.
