Using Powers, Skills, and Items

Sometimes during the course of your adventures you will be given an explicit option to use a power, skill, or item. Such options will appear in the list of clickable choices at the end of a game section.

At other times, you may be required to "use" a particular power, skill, or item without being provided with the explicit option to do so. To use one of your powers, skills, or items in any game section, look for the "Use an Item, Skill, or Power" section at the bottom of your character's stats section.

Then, click either "Item" (to use an item you're carrying), "Skill" (to use one of your skills), or "Power" (to use one of your powers), and you'll be presented with a list of your items, skills, or powers. You can then click on the item, skill, or power you wish to use.

You may also use items, skills, and powers by selecting the "use" option when viewing your items, skills, or powers list. On your items list, the "use" option is represented by a small hand icon to the left of each item. On your skills and powers list, the "use" option is a "use" link to the right of each skill/power.

When you use an item in this fashion the attempt will automatically succeed (barring any special requirements for that item) and you may be directed to a new game section based on the outcome of the usage.

When you use a power or skill, you will be told whether or not your attempt succeeded. Sometimes, a particular section or scenario will require that your power or skill be at a certain minimum level to succeed.

Some skills have specific requirements pertaining to usage. For example, use of weaponry requires that your character be wielding a weapon, while use of a specialty weaponry skill (Slashing Weapons, for example) requires that your character be wielding a slashing class weapon. The use of Archery requires that your character possess a bow.

Sometimes, the game will include a message telling you that a particular item, skill, or power has a use in your current section. In some cases, however, there will be no such message and you may need to discover the special use of an item, skill, or power by carefully reading the section text.
