Ulgror

Legends say that a mighty and immortal guardian spirit known as Ulgror keeps watch over Tar Lake and the secrets that have long lain hidden in the depths of the perilous mire.

Of ancient Aldvarian origin, the name 'Ulgror' roughly translates to "I am what was".

According to the various legends concerned with Ulgror (and the accounts of several notable adventurers), the guardian spirit of Tar Lake most commonly assumes the form of a giant tar beast that rises out of the bubbling morass to do battle with those bold enough to encroach upon its domain.

The same legends maintain that Ulgror is not itself a single spirit, but instead a collective of the spirits of all who have perished in the infernal, roiling depths of Tar Lake.
