Syr The Undaunted

Syr (for whom the Tysian city is named), is hailed by the descendants of the Aldvari as the only true avatar of Srythak .

Syr is said to have led more than one hundred voyages of the Aldvari across the Sundren Sea , though historians of the current age place this number at no more than nine. Legends say that Syr fought and slew the ancient sea serpent Vorgorak in a battle that lasted 7 days. Legend also tells it that the sons and daughters of Vorgorak prowl the Sundren to this day, seeking out the ships of the Aldvari, and vowing revenge on the Sons of Syr .

By all accounts, Syr is regarded as the most powerful warrior to have ever walked upon Sryth.

His only defeat, and the one that ended his life, came at the hands of Haalath The Deceiver, a long time friend and ally. It is written that Syr and Haalath fought for the love of the maiden Pheirise, and when it became obvious that she had chosen Syr, Haalath killed the hero of the Aldvari whilst he slept.

According to legend, Syr's body was weighted and sunk into the depths of the Sundren Sea. His magical sword, Moonstorm, sank into the gloomy depths with its fallen master.

Haalath, guilty over his betrayal of his friend, fled into the wilderness and was never seen again. Pheirise is said to have spent the remainder of her days staring out over the Sundren Sea, longing for the man to whom she had given her heart.
