The Sounding Oak

The Sounding Oak, a tree many claim is older than the city that surrounds it, towers a stone-walled, circular garden in one of the oldest sections of the Tysian Capital .

While there is little doubt that the massive, ancient oak is enchanted, it has long been believed that the magic protecting and preserving the tree is weakening.

Over the past three centuries, the tree has lost several limbs and, as a consequence of this, has taken on a rather eerie, withered appearance.

Despite its more recent hardships, the Sounding Oak remains an imposing, majestic presence in the city -- one that serves to remind the people of Talinus, and the Kingdom at large, of the determination and resilience of the Tysian people.
