Palo

Palo is a common, popular hot drink throughout the North Broadlands .

It is derived from the bark of the palo tree (a medium-sized dark-skinned hardwood). The bark is boiled in water, and the resulting drink is dark, bold, and energizing.

The palo tree renews its bark annually. The bark is also a food that is prized by horntails .

If you can imagine the flavour of strong, black coffee, with a hint of roasted nuts, you will have captured the essence of palo.
