King Pilahn of Ryorsial

King Pilahn will long be remembered as the "Unifier".

He sensed growing corruption and rebelliousness in his barons, whom he trusted to carry his word of law to the far reaches of the Kingdom of Ryorsial .

So, with little recourse, he used his authority as King to remove the ability of his barons to impose their own laws within their jurisdictions. He hoped that this would root out corruption, and serve to again unify the Kingdom under his banner.

Sadly, his life was taken by an assassin's knife only a month after he made this decree. His wife, Meonra and their son, Jirdas, were found slain by his side.

A murderer was never named, but within days the Kingdom of Ryorsial was no more. Each of its five barons claimed sovereignty for their respective territories, and began to build armed forces.

Norin Bregg, the man who served as the King's top advisor has assumed the post of Steward of Ryorsial. With a vow of support from the kingdom's three knightly orders , he is determined to govern the kingdom until the rightful heir is discovered. He has taken up residence in the King's Citadel in the city of Sebaldin .
