Fort Ironwind

The origin of the ancient fortress of Ironwind, perched on the treacherous, snow-laden upper reaches of Mount Karugarn is shrouded in mystery.

The fort, a grim, stone structure, overlooking one of the highest passes in all of the Alspuin Mountains , is believed to be well over a thousand years old, though who it is that constructed it -- and for what purpose -- remains unknown.

Reaching the fort is no easy task. Apart from the deadly perils presented by the harsh, wintry, unforgiving weather that assails Karugarn's peak, the narrow spine of ledge that once led to the foot of the fort's perch long ago crumbled away.
