The catamarok are nimble, clever, and cruel, and do not tolerate other species -- except as slaves.

Catamarok are immune to the effects of nearly all non-magical fire and they have the ability to ignite themselves at will, making themselves both fearsome and dangerous in the eyes of any would-be foe.

Master catamarok warriors are said to have nine lives and are believed to grow in power with each of their new incarnations.

It is believed that these scheming and warlike cat beings control vast empires in several of the countless realms of the Neverness.
