Castle Baleward

This imposing woodland fortress, located within the borders of Fogbough Forest , is the ancestral home of the Balewards -- an ancient line of powerful mages who long served as the stewards of the cursed wood.

The castle was abandoned nearly two hundred years ago, following the death of Umborek Baleward and the subsequent flight of his only son, Umdurol .

When the castle was occupied, four magical beacons burned in each of its corner towers. The beacons were said to have the power to ward off the creeping curse that has long plagued Fogbough, and protect the abode of the stewards as they waged their incessant battle against the growing evil in the wood.
