The Legendary Bloodrunes

Countless ages ago, on a world long since swallowed up by the vile, unrelenting chaos that reigns in the deepest regions of the Neverness , a vast arsenal of powerful weapons and mighty armour was created.

These items, each blessed with seven magical markings sacred to that forgotten realm, were given to only the elite among its warriors, so that they could employ them against the howling horde that incessantly assailed the gates of their beloved world.

The seven markings, known as the Bloodrunes, were infused with the very life essence of the many ancestors of these brave warriors. The Bloodrunes bestowed upon the items they adorned a vast array of special powers, making those who wielded the rune-marked weapons, or outfitted themselves in the rune-marked armour, fearsome combatants.

Now, many thousands of years after they were first crafted and forged in that forgotten realm, deep in the unending Nevernal darkness, some of the items marked with Bloodrunes have found their way into the world of Sryth...
